The following is an open invitation to those interested in experiencing a traditional Indian Manipuri Dance Performance.
Manipuri dance is one of the six major Indian classical dance forms.
It is a folk dance, which originates in Manipur, a state in north-eastern India on the border with Myanmar. In contrast with other Indian classical dance forms, Manipuri dance style embodies graceful and beautifully flowing movements. Female dancers’ unique and gorgeous cylindrical skirts decorated with small mirrors and jewels glitter to their movements. The word “Manipuri” has a meaning of jewelry.
There will be two performances in Kansai, Sakai and Kobe.
