Notice From the Philippine Consulate

The Philippine Consulate General – Osaka-Kobe invites applications for a translator/interpreter with the following minimum qualifications:
 native Japanese speaker, or Level 1 proficiency (if non-Japanese)
 proficient in the English language
 willing to travel within Western Japan, coordinating with Japanese city, ward, police and immigration officials
 willing to undergo a minimum three (3) months probation

在大阪ー神戸フィリピン共和国総領事館では、新規職員(通訳・翻訳)の採用を予定しています。
以下の要件を満たす方からのご応募をお待ち申し上げます。
1) 日本語を母国語とする方
     日本語を母国語としない方の場合は「日本語検定1級」取得者
2) 英語能力があること
3) 当領事館管轄地域(西日本28府県)に出張できる方
日本の行政機関(県・市・町)、警察や入管当局等と調整が図れる能力のある方
4) 採用後3ヶ月間は、試用期間となることを承諾できる方

雇用基本条件:
1. 月給: 23万円 - 30万円 (*能力・資格により査定します)
2. 保険・年金への加入はありませんが、本人の(例:国民保険)資格状況により手当を支給します。
3. フィリピン政府外務省内規に従い、一定の距離をみたす場合、交通費を支給します。
4. 契約期間は、原則6ヶ月としますが、職務評価にもとづき6ヶ月毎に更新します。

Event Announcement from The Royal Thai Consulate of Osaka

The Kansai Consular Corps is pleased to share the following information from our colleagues at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka.

The Royal Thai Consulate will organize the 13th Thai Festival 2015 on 23-24 May 2015 at Taiyo no Hiroba, Osaka Castle Park.

The Thai Festival, which has been organized in Osaka since 2003, has become
an annual event of fostering cultural exchanges and friendship with Japanese and foreigners living in Osaka. This event is a wonderful opportunity to witness Thailand in various aspects,including cultural performances, Thai cuisine, Thai handicraft and Muay Thai (Thai boxing)
as well as Thai Pop music.

Friday, May 8 2015 Reception Hosted by the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Osaka

On Friday, May 8th 2015 Kansai-area organizations, community representatives, and members of the Kansai diplomatic corps attended a reception hosted by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Osaka and Mrs. Latypov.

The purpose of the reception was to commemorate the people who lost their lives in the Second World War, known in Russia as the Great Patriotic War. Celebrations are held across Russia on this day.

Guests were treated to cultural specialties included Russian regional dishes, a dance performance, and a folk music performance.

May 7, 2015 Kansai Consular Corps Executive Team Board Meeting

On Thursday, May 7th 2015 the Kansai Consular Corps Executive team (consisting of the Dean, Vice Dean and Executive Secretariat) held a meeting. The purpose of the board meeting was to formulate a plan for the action items that resulted from our KCC Annual General Meeting in March.

Specific topics discussed by the Board included 1) the coordination of a KCC Accounting team (as proposed by Honorary Consul Sommerhalder), 2) the purchase of KCC office materials, 3)a proposal by the Secretariat for a joint KCC-Kansai Area School Project to mentor/coach high school and university students (information forthcoming), and 4) the KCC lecture series proposed by Consul General Greenberg.

We anticipate an exciting Summer and Autumn for KCC members. Thanks to your tremendous efforts, there are many interesting events in the pipeline.

In order to plan and implement our organization’s activities more smoothly, we kindly request your ongoing cooperation regarding scheduling and communication of events. To that end, the Secretariat will contact KCC members shortly for updates regarding any forthcoming national holidays (or other events) your consulates may be hosting.
